The front door is the main way in. We replace the cylinder or lock and give you new keys, so previous owners, tenants, agents and contractors are locked out.

Back and patio doors are often forgotten, and are often how burglars get in. We check them, change the locks and add security where it is needed.
Rear DoorsuPVC Cylinder Replacement
Most uPVC doors use Euro cylinders, which are quick to change. We fit a correctly sized TS007 3-star cylinder, so it is new and harder to attack.

Moving Home Lock Change FAQs
Should I change the locks when I move house?
Yes. You cannot know how many keys exist or who holds them. Previous owners, tenants, estate agents, cleaners and builders may all have copies. Changing or rekeying the outside locks costs little compared with a break-in, and means only you decide who can get in.
Do landlords have to change locks between tenants?
There is no general law in England that forces landlords to change locks between tenancies, but it is strongly recommended and some insurers expect it. Old tenants may have kept copies. We change or rekey the locks, supply the new tenant’s keys and give you a written record for your file.
How much does it cost to change all the locks in a house?
A 2026 price guide puts a London lock change at about £120 to £230 per door, and a Euro cylinder change at £90 to £180 (BestBuilders). A typical house with front and back doors costs more than a flat with one door. We check every door and quote in writing.
What is the difference between rekeying and replacing?
Rekeying changes the inside of an existing lock so old keys no longer work, which suits good-quality locks. Replacing fits a new lock or cylinder, which is better when the old one is worn, cheap or below your insurer’s standard. We advise door by door.
Can you change locks before completion or key handover?
Only with the authority of the person entitled to the property, and usually once you have legal access. We ask for proof such as completion or tenancy documents, because we must be sure we are working for the right person.
Can I get all my doors on one key?
Often, yes. Keyed-alike cylinders and padlocks let one key open the front door, back door and outbuildings. It is convenient, but losing that key affects every lock, so we talk through the trade-off with you before ordering.
I rent my home. Can I change the locks?
Check your tenancy agreement first. Tenants usually need the landlord’s permission to change locks, and must give the landlord a key. If your landlord agrees, we can change the locks and provide the new keys for both of you.
