Burst Pipe Repair in London, Day or Night
Why Pipes Burst and How a Burst Pipe Plumber Fixes Them
Frozen and Split Pipes
Water freezes, expands and splits the pipe along its length, often in a loft, garage or outside wall. You only see it when it thaws. We cut out the split and fit new pipe.
Split Section ReplacedOld Pipes Giving Way
Thin, corroded copper or old steel pipe that starts weeping at joints or pinholes. We check the pipe either side to decide between a short repair and a longer run.
Pipe Condition CheckedFailed Joints and Fittings
A push-fit or compression joint that has slipped, or a soldered joint that was never right. We remake it with the right fitting so it holds at full pressure.
Joint RemadeMains and Supply Pipe Bursts
A burst on the main supply releases the most water, fast. We shut it off at the stopcock, repair the pipe and tell you if the fault is on the water company’s side.
Fast IsolationHot and Cold Pipe Bursts
A split on a hot or cold run under a sink, in a cupboard or behind a bath panel. We make it safe, replace the damaged length and recheck the pressure.
Pipe ReplacedPipes Hidden in Walls and Floors
A burst you cannot see, showing as a spreading stain or a sudden drop in pressure. We trace it and keep any opening-up as small as the repair allows.

Proper Replacement Pipe
The damaged length is cut out and replaced with the right pipe and fittings, rather than left wrapped in tape or a clamp.

Advice to Stop It Happening Again
We point out other pipes at risk, such as bare runs in lofts and outside walls, and tell you where lagging would help.

Burst Pipe Repair FAQs
What should I do first if a pipe bursts?
Close the main stopcock, usually under the kitchen sink or where the water comes into the property. If it is safe, turn off the hot water, open the cold taps to drain the system and keep well away from wet electrics. Then call us and we will guide you until the plumber arrives.
How much does burst pipe repair cost?
A 2026 UK price guide puts a simple, easy-to-reach burst pipe repair at around £150 to £350, and a concealed repair under a floor at £400 to £1,200, with London call-outs about 22% above average (BestBuilders). We give you a written quote before we start.
Who pays for a burst pipe, landlord or tenant?
In a rented home the landlord usually pays. Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 requires landlords to keep water pipes in repair. A tenant may be asked to pay only if they caused the damage, for example by leaving the heating off in freezing weather.
How quickly can you get to a burst pipe?
We treat bursts as emergencies and aim to reach you as fast as traffic allows, day or night. Cold snaps are our busiest time, so when you call we give you an honest arrival estimate for your postcode and talk you through turning the water off while you wait.
Can a burst pipe be repaired without replacing everything?
Usually, yes. If the rest of the pipework is sound, we cut out the failed section and replace just that length. If the pipe is badly corroded or has several weak points, a longer replacement lasts better. We explain both options and quote clearly before doing anything.
Is a frozen pipe the same as a burst pipe?
Not yet. A frozen pipe may be intact but at risk of splitting. Open the tap it feeds, then warm the pipe gently with a hairdryer on low, keeping electrics away from water. Never use a naked flame. If it has split, it will leak as it thaws, so be ready to close the stopcock.
Does your burst pipe repair come with a guarantee?
Yes. Every repair is pressure tested before we leave and carries our 12-month workmanship guarantee. If the same repair fails within that time because of our workmanship, we come back and put it right at no extra cost to you.
