Low Water Pressure Plumber in London
Why Is My Water Pressure Suddenly Low? Common Causes
No Water at All
Taps running dry, a stopcock that will not open or a suspected burst on the supply. We check the incoming water, stop any leak and get you running again where the fault is on your side.
Supply Fault FindingWeak Flow Everywhere
Poor flow at every tap usually points to a half-closed valve, a narrow or ageing supply pipe, or a problem at the boundary. We measure it to find out which.
Flow & Pressure TestsOnly the Hot Is Weak
If cold is fine but hot is poor, the restriction is usually in the tank, the pipework or a blocked fitting on the hot side. We trace it and recommend the repair that will help.
Hot Side ChecksPressure Drops When Taps Open
A shower that goes cold or scalds when someone runs a tap. That points to shared demand, narrow pipework or a failing valve. We check and advise.
Demand ChecksPumps and Tanks
Noisy or dead pumps and cold water tanks that cannot keep up. We diagnose, repair and, where it makes sense, quote for a replacement.
Pump & Tank ServiceStopcocks and Valves

Water Pressure & Supply FAQs
Why is my water pressure suddenly low?
A sudden drop is often a burst main or works in the street, so check whether neighbours are affected first. If it is only your home, look for a leak, a half-closed stopcock or a blocked filter. If pressure dropped slowly over months, ageing or narrow supply pipework is a more likely cause.
Is low water pressure Thames Water’s problem or mine?
Thames Water looks after the main and the pipe up to your boundary, and the owner looks after the supply pipe and everything inside. Our readings at the stopcock and at your taps show which side the problem is on, which helps if you need to contact them.
Why is the water pressure low in my flat?
Flats often share a supply pipe or rely on a tank and pump, and upper floors get less pressure from the mains. A half-open valve, a failing pump or a shared pipe that is too narrow are common causes. We check your flat first and tell you if it is a building-wide issue.
What should I do if I suddenly have no water?
Check whether neighbours have water too. If they do not, it is likely a supply problem in the street, and your water company is the contact. If only you are affected, make sure the stopcock is fully open, look for any leaks and call us.
Why is only my hot water pressure weak?
If cold is fine but hot is weak, the restriction is usually after the point where the hot water is stored or heated, such as a tank, a partly closed valve or a blocked fitting. We trace the hot supply and recommend the repair that will actually make a difference.
Will a booster pump fix my low pressure?
Sometimes, but not always. A pump can improve flow where the system is the limit, but it cannot create water that the supply pipe is not delivering. We measure first, then tell you honestly whether a pump, a pipe upgrade or a simpler repair is the right answer.
Can you replace a seized or leaking stopcock?
Yes. A stopcock that will not turn or drips is worth replacing, because it is your main way to stop water in an emergency. We isolate the supply, fit a new stopcock and check it shuts off fully, so you know it will work when you need it.
